Five cold email templates for local businesses
Each template pairs with a specific signal you already have in your captured data. Keep them short. Replace the bracketed parts with the real detail, never leave them generic.
1. The no-website opener
Signal: the business has no website field. This is the strongest local pitch because the gap is obvious and the value is concrete.
Subject: quick question about [Business Name]
Hi [Owner], I was looking for [category] in [City] and found [Business Name] on Google Maps with [rating] stars, but no website. Most of your competitors show up with one. I build simple sites for local [category] businesses. Want me to send a rough mockup, no charge?
2. The review pain point
Signal: a recurring complaint in their Google reviews. Vonsel surfaces these so you can name the exact problem.
Subject: noticed something in your reviews
Hi [Owner], your reviews are strong overall, but a few recent ones mention [specific pain point]. I help [category] businesses fix exactly that with [solution]. Would a 10 minute call this week be useful?
3. The local proof point
Signal: same category, same city. Social proof from a neighbor beats a generic case study.
Subject: helped [Nearby Business] in [City]
Hi [Owner], I recently worked with [Nearby Business] a few blocks from you and helped them [result]. I think the same play would work for [Business Name]. Open to hearing how?
4. The soft follow up
Signal: no reply after three or four days. One nudge, no guilt.
Subject: re: quick question about [Business Name]
Hi [Owner], floating this back up in case it got buried. Happy to send the [mockup / example] with no commitment. Just reply yes and it is yours.
5. The break up
Signal: still no reply after two touches. This often pulls the reply the others could not.
Subject: closing the loop
Hi [Owner], I will stop reaching out after this one. If [outcome] is on your list for this quarter, I am here. If not, no hard feelings and best of luck with [Business Name].
